Who would have thought 50 years ago that we would be living in the age of computers, mobile phones, DVDs, space travel, holidays abroad, reality TV shows, fast food restaurants, council tax and everything else that we now take for granted. Yet in a world that has changed so much it is still possible to know an unchanging God.
Golden Years is for senior adults and lasts for approximately 75 minutes - it works particularly well when a lunch or tea are included in the event. It is recommended that there be an opportunity for those attending to join a discovery course if they want to know more about experiencing God’s love for themselves.
Golden Years is hosted by one of our evangelists together with Envizage Theatre Company and makes use of large screen video and music.
Featuring the likes of Dame Vera Lynn leading an ever popular sing along, Max Bygraves and Tommy Cooper providing classic humour, along with ‘Watch with Mother’ favourites and newsreel footage of key events we recreate the memories of those past years.
Through nostalgia and recollections of days gone by we look at a generation that have experienced so much – a generation that knew of God, who had respect for the Church and all that it stood for, yet may not have realised that they can know Him personally.
